Tips for using it in Goa
- Rinse the camera in fresh water after every sea session, then let it dry before opening the battery door.
- Before going in the water, check that the battery door is fully closed and that no sand is caught in the seal.
- The chest harness gives a steadier, more natural view than a head mount on scooter rides and in the surf.
- Swap to the second battery at lunch, and charge the first one while you eat.
- Stay within 10 m depth. That is the limit without a separate protective housing.

How deep can I take it?
GoPro rates the HERO12 Black waterproof to 10 m (33 ft) without a housing. Going deeper needs GoPro's separate Protective Housing, which is not part of this rental.
How long does a battery last?
It depends on the settings. GoPro quotes more than 2.5 hours of continuous recording at 1080p30 on one battery. Higher resolutions and frame rates use more power. Two batteries are included.
Can I use it for snorkelling?
Yes, within 10 m. Rinse it in fresh water afterwards.
How do I get the footage off?
Everything records to the included 64 GB card. You can copy files to a laptop or transfer them with the GoPro Quik app.
Can I control it with my voice or wireless earbuds?
GoPro says the HERO12 Black supports Bluetooth audio, so AirPods and other Bluetooth headsets can record sound and give voice commands.
Is it fine in the Goa heat?
GoPro lists an operating temperature of −10° to 35° C. Goa afternoons can go above that, so keep the camera out of direct sun between shots, and let it cool in the shade if it shuts down.
